The Male Casework Coordinator is responsible for delivering emotional, practical and financial support to all male beneficiaries and acts as their first point of contact — including men on bail, former detainees, and male relatives of prisoners. He will also recruit and supervise volunteer support workers and manage case records through HHUGS’ internal systems.
Main Responsibilities
Casework
- Serve as the first point of contact for all male beneficiaries
- Conduct assessments, develop support plans, and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate financial aid, transport, and referrals
- Organise social, youth, and beneficiary events
- Collect feedback, testimonials, and monitor outcomes
Transport Coordination
- Coordinate prison visits and liaise with drivers and caseworkers
- Track all transport-related interactions and reports
Volunteer Management
- Recruit, induct, and supervise volunteer support workers and mentors
- Deliver training and coordinate volunteer engagement
- Maintain contact summaries and DBS/reference checks
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in casework or support roles
- Experience working with vulnerable or marginalised communities
- Excellent communication, empathy, and organisational skills
- Strong record-keeping, problem-solving, and IT proficiency
- Ability to work independently and with emotional sensitivity
Desirable
- Knowledge of criminal justice or counter-terrorism systems
- Mentoring, counselling or coaching experience
- Fluency in Arabic, Urdu, or Bangla
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
