Job Title: Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised, and results-driven Fundraising Manager to lead the fundraising efforts of HHUGS. The role involves developing innovative strategies to maximise income, managing donor relationships, overseeing impactful
campaigns, and handling grant applications.
The Fundraising Manager will play a key role in shaping HHUGS’ fundraising strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy and Campaigns
- Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy aligned with HHUGS’
organisational goals. - Plan, execute, and evaluate fundraising campaigns, including Islamic calendar events (e.g., Ramadan, Hajj) and seasonal initiatives (e.g., Winter Campaign, Back to School).
- Identify and explore new fundraising opportunities, including corporate
partnerships, community events, and online platforms. - Oversee the creation of compelling fundraising materials and campaigns,
ensuring alignment with HHUGS’ values and mission.
Grant Applications and Management
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, and
other funding bodies. - Write and submit compelling grant applications, ensuring alignment with HHUGS’ mission and funding criteria.
- Build and maintain relationships with grant-making organisations to enhance
funding opportunities. - Ensure proper reporting and compliance with grant conditions, providing
updates to funders as required. - Track and manage grant income, ensuring funds are allocated and reported
accurately in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, major givers, and
corporate sponsors. - Develop and implement a donor stewardship plan to encourage repeat giving
and long-term loyalty. - Ensure timely acknowledgements of donations and maintain accurate records
of donor interactions.
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Coordinate with community organisations, Islamic societies, and local groups to
increase grassroots fundraising efforts. - Organise fundraising events and challenges to engage diverse audiences.
- Develop campaigns to recruit community ambassadors and volunteer
fundraisers.
Marketing and Digital Fundraising
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to design and execute digital fundraising
campaigns on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and JustGiving. - Leverage analytics tools to optimise digital fundraising performance and donor
- acquisition strategies.
- Explore innovative digital tools and trends to enhance online fundraising efforts.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance - Track and report on key fundraising and grant metrics, providing regular updates
to the CEO and Board of Trustees. - Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant regulations, including
GDPR and charity law. - Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate allocation and
reporting of fundraising income and grant funds.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of fundraising volunteers to achieve campaign and
grant-related goals. - Collaborate with other departments, such as Marketing, Beneficiary Support,
and Finance, to ensure seamless campaign execution.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in a related field (desirable).
- Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Proven experience in leading successful fundraising campaigns in the charity
sector (essential). - Strong understanding of charity fundraising regulations and best practices
(essential). - Experience in writing and managing grant applications, including compliance and reporting (essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential).
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with donors, corporate
sponsors, and grant-makers (essential). - Experience in digital fundraising and using online platforms effectively
(essential). - Familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising software (desirable).
- Understanding of Islamic giving principles, such as zakat and sadaqah
(desirable).

Terms & Conditions
The post holder must be available for the core hours of 9am-5pm weekdays from our office. Occasional work on evenings and weekends is required. Salary is dependent on experience, with a holiday allowance of 28 days per annum, including public holidays.
The post holder must be legally entitled to work in the UK, with no contract indications in personal background or criminal record indicating unsuitability to work with children, youth, ex-offenders, or vulnerable clients.
The post holder will undertake any other duties of a similar nature, which are
commensurate with the grade and seniority of the post.
