My journey with Hhugs began four years ago.
When
I first met the sisters a few years ago I just could not believe that two sisters
started this great initiative to help the community in these kind of
situations, that is, of having a close member of the family arrested. It was a huge job to
settle, but thanks to Allah they did and now Hhugs is running very
well, ma sha’ Allah, may Allah reward them for their efforts.
When a member of the family is arrested some of yours friend are afraid to be tainted with guilt by association; so at a time when you need more support, you in fact find yourself more alone; you are afraid to make problems for others. That is why Hhugs’ role is so important, in all respects, since they do not hesitate to approach you if they know you are in difficulty; they are rather hear to respond to you and welcome you with open arms.
I have always felt since I have known Hhugs that I had someone to rely on, and it has made my life easier and my burden lighter.
My
husband was in prison abroad. We decided to settle in UK for
religious reason. Of course, the travel to visit him was expensive and we were not
able to cover all the expenses alone. But with the help of Hhugs it became
possible to arrange two visits a year. Until now, they contribute towards
the cost of the travel. It is a considerable relief. JazakumAllahu khairan
from all the family for that. It is an immeasurable support and
happiness, in this test, that they provide for our family.
As
we came to England for religious reasons, I thought I could register my
children in Islamic schools. Unfortunately when I realised the extent of
the fees, I understood it would be impossible to pay for that aone. It
was a priority for me to give my children an Islamic environment in
every aspect of their life. Hhugs agreed to contribute towards the
fees and made it possible for our children, Alhamdulillah. I felt this was essential, not a secondary need, to do our upmost to provide our children with an Islamic environment in and outside the home. Throughout the
years it built them like a shield and they acquired good habits.
Hhugs always provided legal advice, spoke on my behalf and helped to find solutions to any problems that arose in my situation.
We
always received a card for Eid, gifts for children – they don’t forget us
in these very sensitive moments; Always a call to have news; An
invitation during Ramadan. JazakumAllah khairen to those men and women,
may Allah support them, bless their funds and actions, aameen.
Not
everybody is able to participate in such an organisation or to give their time,
but if you can support them financially, it doesn’t cost so much, the reward
is guaranteed by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. It is an essential way
to participate. And dont forget: in every single contribution you make, you provide help, support, happiness, relief to
the Muslim prisoners, because it’s a support to his family, and Muslim
prisoner has a great standing in front of Allah.
